Hyde Park is known as the heart of Leeds’ ‘studentville’ and has everything you could possibly want. Shops, cafés, bars and pubs, outdoor recreation, as well as being within walking distance University. Here’s just a small taste of the area.

Hyde Park Picture House

Located on the corner of Brudenall Road and Queens Rd , the Hyde Park Picture House opened in 1914, and is one of the oldest cinemas in the country. A cosy movie theatre on that is full of history and character, the Picture House still boasts many original Edwardian features from its exterior to the small stage and piano. Today it plays classic films, international cinema and independent movies.

A must visit for music lovers. Well known for holding smaller but thoroughly entertaining gigs, even famous bands such as the Kaiser Chiefs and the Cribs have performed secret gigs here. You will definitely see many people in the area wearing the famous Brudenall social t-shirt with pride!

A trusted name for the cash strapped and hungry student of Hyde Park! Now we don’t encourage gorging on greasy fried food every day, but there’s nothing better than a hearty chicken meal after a long hard day at Uni, especially when it tastes this damn good! Grilled or fried, HFC chicken is the best in town.
